Through a letter already on the board. Add that board letter to your seven tiles in the finder and search: every result is a word you can physically place through it. Because all seven of your own tiles are used, the play still earns the full 50 point bingo bonus.
Why does the eight letter count here differ from other sites?
Each site counts its own dictionary. Ours is ENABLE, a public domain list, and every number on this page is recomputed from it at build time, so the count always matches the search results exactly. The /dictionary/ page publishes the list, its license, and totals for every length.
What is the best letter to keep for eight letter words?
The S, and it is not close. A large share of this tier consists of plurals of seven letter words, so an S converts a huge family of near misses into playable words, either through a board letter or stacked onto an existing word.
