Word finders for every length
Racks of four, six, and seven tiles decide more games than any other size. Compare this page with the 4 Letter Word Finder and the 7 Letter Word Finder .
QWERTY is a legal word. The name of the keyboard layout sits among the 15,232 six letter words in the ENABLE list, and it is one of the few Q words in the game that never asks for a U. If that fact surprises you, the finder above will keep surprising you: type any six tiles, and every playable six letter word comes back instantly, ranked by points.
The Q without U club
Six letters is unusually kind to a stranded Q. Besides QWERTY, the list holds QIVIUT, the underwool of the musk ox, SHEQEL, the Israeli currency, and QANATS, the ancient irrigation tunnels of Persia. Each one turns the hardest tile in the bag into a real play instead of a ten point hostage waiting for a U that may never arrive.
One tile short of glory
A six letter word from a full rack leaves one tile behind, and good players pick that leftover on purpose. Keeping an S, an E, or a blank sets up the next turn, while dumping a clunky letter now keeps the rack healthy. Use the score sort to weigh the tradeoff honestly: the six letter play worth a few extra points is sometimes worse than the slightly cheaper one that leaves you a beautiful rack.
Big scores at this length
PIZAZZ, BEZAZZ, and PAZAZZ, three spellings of the same sparkle, share the crown at 35 points apiece. JAZZED brings 32 and FRIZZY an even 30. Draws like that are rare, which is exactly what the question mark is for: type one for each blank tile you hold, up to three, and the finder shows what suddenly becomes reachable. Blanks score zero for their letter, and the results say plainly which words depended on one.
Everything countable on this page, starting with the total in the first paragraph, is computed from the ENABLE list during the build. The copy can never disagree with the search results, and the dictionary page documents the list, its license, and its numbers in full.
